Earlier this year Google launched their Google+ social networking platform which is set to rival Facebook. Up until now the Google +1 button didn't really have any meaning and there was little motive for pressing the button. However, this has changed as Google have now launched an updated version of the button which allows Google+ users to share the information with their friends / community in the form of a “snippet”, which includes text, an image and a URL.
